Level Sensor

The most accurate way to monitor current tank level, is to install a level sensor. The Ultrapro level sensor uses ultrasonic technology to continuously monitor to level. The ultrapro level sensor is constructed in PVDF to stand up in the toughest applications. The level sensor will provide continuous level monitoring for tanks up to 65 feet. The ultrapro level sensor also does not require a fob or usb to program through a cloud based or downloaded software.

The ultrapro level sensor uses push button calibration for easy field installation and trouble shooting. The ultrapro level sensor is completely corrosion resistant making it a great solution for chemical, water or waste water applications. The ultrapro level sensor has a 4-20mA output, which is adjustable- meaning the 4mA signal could be the high level and the 20mA signal could be the low level. The ultrapro level sensor is available in class 1 div 1 for explosion proof applications. The ultrapro level sensor is the easiest level sensor in the market to program, simply push two buttons and you are set up based on point level programming. Point and click the button on the ultrapro level sensor and once you see the light flash you know you have good communication.

The ultrapro level sensor will flash green when it is operating in an excellent condition, and will flash yellow when it is not receiving a return signal. If the ultrapro level sensor does not get a return signal, it may be caused by conditions in the tank. The ultrapro level sensor will not function accurately if there is any foam, vapor, condensation or turbulence in the tank. The ultrapro level sensor works perfectly in applications where the ultrapro level sensor is installed in a plastic bulkhead or flanged fitting on the tank. The ultrapro level sensor has to be pointed straight. If there is any offset of bouncing of the signal the ultrapro level sensor will likely not communicate to the local display or PLC.

The ultrapro level sensor works with any universal displays or PLC / SCADA systems. The ultrapro level sensor can be programmed on a tank, or drum – this will eliminate any measurements or tank dimensional drawings having to be on site. The ultrapro level sensor has automatic temperature compensation which is a standarad feature provided with the ultrapro level sensor. The ultrapro level sensor is available with HART protocol and RS-485 Modbus output. Having a device such as the ultrapro level sensor you have the ability to outfit any tank in your facility.

The ultrapro level sensor is cost effective, and accurate making it a great choice for any end user. The ultrapro level sensor comes with a DIN connection for ease of install and customers can supply their own cable which saves them on install costs. With many different transducer sizes based on the range that the ultrapro level sensor is capable of monitoring, you should also double check your tank fittings to ensure that you can mount the ultrapro level sensor.

GE Water and Power – Liquid Level Probe Proves Itself Once Again

GE has had several applications where Ultrasonic does not stand up or operate correctly and radar tends to be too expensive. The most affordable and reliable product currently on the market is the Levelpro 100 series Liquid Level Probe. The All thermoplastic liquid level probe that Levelpro offers is a rugged design. It can hold up to the most corrosive medias. The hydrostatic pressure technology measures water column. On those applications that have vapor, foam and condensate, which can cause an ultrasonic level transmitter go lost. The Levelpro 100 series Liquid Level Probe is the best solution.  The market has been flooded with Ultrasonic level sensor that do not seem to work all the time. People just have it in their mind that with corrosive applications they need a non-contact sensor. This is incorrect. The Levelpro 100 Series Liquid Level Probe proves itself to be one of the least expensive solution.

GE Water and Power is an Original equipment manufacturer that continually needs to monitor their level in several different tanks. It was just recent that they discovered the Levelpro 100 Series LiquidLevel Probe. GE Water and Power uses several different acids and caustics in their manufacturing plant and would hate to run out in the middle of the day. That’s why it is crucial they use a liquid level probe to measure their level. From Sulfuric Acid, Caustic Soda (Sodium Hydroxide), Sodium Hypochlorite and even Nitric Acid. The 100 series do not fail. Due to the corrosive liquid, we used the PVC material, kalrez seals and ceramic sensor. This product is also available in PVDF and Polypropylene for those applications that may not be recommended with PVC. With the .5% accuracy of the 100 series plastic liquid level switch coupled with the Levelpro TVL series LED Display and Controller, the application was reading accurately within minutes of set up. Only one number is to be set up in the display for the Levelpro 100 series pressure transmitter to work flawlessly with the Levelpro TVL series LED display.

GE Water and Power now standardizes on the Levelpro 100 Series Liquid Levelpro for all of their level applications. Since the 100 Series Liquid Levelpro is not that expensive, as mentioned. It is great for them to keep several in stock as backups. The reason is not due to failure but sometimes the liquid level probes get misused while out in the field. Since the ceramic sensor is very sensitive, it is required to really keep good care of them. Also, if there are other units in the tank with the Levelpro 100 series liquid level probe, It could get tangled up. Sometimes the customer or GE water and Power use mixes of pumps inside of the tank with the Levelpro 100 Series Liquid Levelpro which can cause some issues. With that being said, it will still measure the level accurately. Just one more application and customer that is very satisfied by the Levepro 100 series Liquid Level Probe.

Cambridge Towel Conquers Level Application with LevelproUltrapro Ultrasonic Level Sensor

Levelpro releases the new Ultrasonic Level Sensor, the Ultrapro series 500 and 1000. Available now with a local display or coupled with the remote TVL Series ITC550 remote display. With an output of 4-20mA. This unit can be equipped with almost every display on the market. Within days the the release, Cambridge Towel used the LevelproUltrapro Ultrasonic Level Sensor to quickly and accurately give a reading of their sulfuric acid tank. The original plan was to work with the 100 series submersible pressure transmitter made by Levelpro but in this case it had to be a non-contact unit, but still working with a looped power 4-20mA output. This is where the Ultrapro Ultrasonic Level sensor came in to save the day.

The LevelproUltrapro Ultrasonic Level Sensor as mentioned is available in two different styles. The 500 and 1000. The difference between the two is the local display that the 1000 series comes equipped with. Some of the attractive features that Cambridge Towel was interested in and currently use are the No FOB or computers needed to program the unit. They were able to install the LevelproUltrapro 500 series Level Sensor right there on site. With the all plastic design in PVDF and Polypropylene. Even if there is a spill or fumes from the product, it will not affect the unit.  With the two button set up, it took only minutes to get this unit up and running quickly and accurately. Meaning there was little to now down time for Cambridge Towel, which is a big deal for a company of this magnitude. The customer did not have to let us know the sizing of the tank at the time of purchase since they were able to adjust the 4mA and 20mA to fit their tank needs at the time of install. Available in one meter, two meter, six meter and twenty meter.

The Levelpro Ultrapro Ultrasonic Level Sensor work with them all. Some customers get nervous with ultrasonic, scared that some condensate or vapours can get in the way of an accurate reading. With the Levelpro Ultrasonic Level Sensor, the echo is so large that is can actually push the condensate off the unit, allowing it to continue to keep an accurate level without going lost. Cambridge Towel is ever going and may want to switch to HART protocol in the future with majority of their tanks that they currently have on site. This makes the Levelpro Ultrapro Ultrasonic Level Sensor something to keep in mind for all of their future applications since it does offer this output.

The market has had a gap in its offering for several years now. With Ultrasonic level sensors that were not making the cut. Now with the Levelpro Ultrasonic Level Sensor; The Ultrapro 500 and 1000, the gap has been filled. Introducing a much stronger product than ever before and keeping the accuracy at an all-time high. With the positive feedback from all the customers that have the LevelproUltrapro Ultrasonic Level Sensor installed. It should continue to make an impact on the market.

Ultrasonic Level Sensor

The most common way to detect corrosive media levels in a tank or sump are to use an ultrasonic level sensor. The non-contact technology of our Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor prevent the instrument from contacting the media and therefore it will not corrode or become damaged due to the nature of the environment.

The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor works exceptionally well in conditions where the specific gravity is unknown to the operator. The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor simply mounts into a 1” or 2” bulkhead fitting or flange and emits a frequency from the transducer, the frequency from the Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor reflects off the media and delivers a 4-20mA output. Level Pro’s Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor is configured with push button calibration which makes the Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor the most user friendly ultrasonic level sensor on the market. Applications for the Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor can range from hydrochloric acid to rainwater. Many companies that manufacture rain water harvesting systems will utilize ultrasonic level sensors for detection the water level in the holding tanks.

The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor will allow the operator to control pumps and valves based on desired set points. For example, is the water level becomes too low the operator can create a set point so that the Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor will turn on a pump. Then with the same Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor he can turn that pump off at a high level to prevent overflow. The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor can also be used for continuous level measurement. The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor has a 4-20mA output that can be configured to a range that the operator inputs. Throughout this range the Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor will provide an exact level reading to a local display or controller.

The Ultrapro ultrasonic sensor is constructed completely out of PVDF for corrosive applications. The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor can be provided with a 1”, 1.5” or 2” transducer to provide weaker or stronger ultrasonic signals. The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor provides the operator with a green LED light indication showing them that the Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor is getting a return signal.

The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor will also provide a yellow LED indication showing the operator that the Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor has gone lost. No other ultrasonic level sensor will provide details that the sensor is in fact powered and working correctly besides the Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor. One important factor to keep in mind when installing an Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor is to ensure that the ultrasonic level sensor is pointing straight. Any tilt or angle to the ultrasonic level sensor will not allow the Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor to get a return signal.

This will cause the Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor to become lost. Ultrasonic level sensors are very common in the chemical distribution market. Many chemical distributors will provide the customer with a tank and an ultrasonic level sensor that will alert their drivers when the tank is becoming full. One thing that sets Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensors aside from the competition is the ease of programming. Many manufacturers sell their customers software or a USB programming fob. Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensors are programmable without any accessories. Simply power the ultrasonic level sensor up and set your 4-20mA range. The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor is plug and play, and the industry favourite.
