Ultrasonic Level Sensor
The most common way to detect corrosive media levels in a tank or sump
are to use an ultrasonic level sensor. The non-contact technology of our
Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor prevent the instrument from contacting the
media and therefore it will not corrode or become damaged due to the nature of
the environment.

The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor works exceptionally well
in conditions where the specific gravity is unknown to the operator. The
Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor simply mounts into a 1” or 2” bulkhead fitting
or flange and emits a frequency from the transducer, the frequency from the
Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor reflects off the media and delivers a 4-20mA
output. Level Pro’s Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor is configured with push
button calibration which makes the Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor the most
user friendly ultrasonic level sensor on the market. Applications for the Ultrapro
ultrasonic level sensor can range from hydrochloric acid to rainwater. Many
companies that manufacture rain water harvesting systems will utilize
ultrasonic level sensors for detection the water level in the holding tanks.
The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor will allow the operator to control pumps
and valves based on desired set points. For example, is the water level becomes
too low the operator can create a set point so that the Ultrapro ultrasonic
level sensor will turn on a pump. Then with the same Ultrapro ultrasonic level
sensor he can turn that pump off at a high level to prevent overflow. The
Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor can also be used for continuous level
measurement. The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor has a 4-20mA output that can
be configured to a range that the operator inputs. Throughout this range the
Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor will provide an exact level reading to a local
display or controller.
The Ultrapro ultrasonic sensor is constructed completely
out of PVDF for corrosive applications. The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor
can be provided with a 1”, 1.5” or 2” transducer to provide weaker or stronger
ultrasonic signals. The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor provides the operator
with a green LED light indication showing them that the Ultrapro ultrasonic
level sensor is getting a return signal.
The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor
will also provide a yellow LED indication showing the operator that the
Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor has gone lost. No other ultrasonic level sensor
will provide details that the sensor is in fact powered and working correctly
besides the Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor. One important factor to keep in
mind when installing an Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor is to ensure that the
ultrasonic level sensor is pointing straight. Any tilt or angle to the
ultrasonic level sensor will not allow the Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor to
get a return signal.
This will cause the Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor to
become lost. Ultrasonic level sensors are very common in the chemical
distribution market. Many chemical distributors will provide the customer with
a tank and an ultrasonic level sensor that will alert their drivers when the
tank is becoming full. One thing that sets Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensors
aside from the competition is the ease of programming. Many manufacturers sell
their customers software or a USB programming fob. Ultrapro ultrasonic level
sensors are programmable without any accessories. Simply power the ultrasonic
level sensor up and set your 4-20mA range. The Ultrapro ultrasonic level sensor
is plug and play, and the industry favourite.
